I love donuts, but I am not sure that I could eat them every day. Most, yes, but not every.
However, chocolate … now that’s a different story. Not many days go by where I don’t consume at least a hint of it in something, if not straight up.
Why is it that, after one bite, everything in the world seems right? Like that first sip of coffee in the morning, a shower after a long day at work, or a glass of wine sitting in an Adirondack chair–it’s a little euphoric.
A couple of weeks ago, the kids and I, as well as the Morning Ag Clips’ own Stephanie and her daughter, went and made our own candy bar at the Village Chocolate Shop in Bennington for their Funtastic Friday program–it was the best!
Stephanie and I had been excited about it for weeks! It was one of those things we uncovered one day at the office–you know, while we were working… 😉 You can bet we marked our calendars that very day for the big event.
Giddy is the word I would use to describe how I felt as we got into the car and drove over there.
(Is that ridiculous or what?)
I had been thinking about my candy bar combo since the day I found out about it. I landed on marshmallow, caramel, and coconut, covered in milk chocolate with toasted coconut on top. I couldn’t wait to try it.
The ingredients were layered in a cradle of chocolate–then they were covered in chocolate and popped onto a conveyor belt that went through a tunnel of cold.
When it came out (5 mins later), Voila! A real candy bar!
It was simply heaven when I pulled it out and took a bite.
I hate to think of the calories that were consumed, but oh well, so worth it. Who’s counting anyways??!?
So, if the Morning Ag Clips and I ever part ways, you can bet that there will be a new chocolatier in Greenwich, NY–by the name of Kate!
Have a great weekend and here’s to CHOCOLATE! (Now go get some!)
