My question is this: What do you get a dad who has everything for Father’s Day???
You get them his daughter’s boating license! Right? I bet you guessed it, didn’t you??!!
Well, Dad, this one is for you. I did it! I passed my boater’s safety course and can now run the boat, legally, at the lake. No more getting after me!
What are you going to worry about now?
I know for the last 15 years (I think), I have been a stinker, putting it off, every year.
I grew up driving the boat; it was a right of passage. I helped my father get out of the driver’s seat and into the lawn chair to watch from the shore.
When the law changed, I was busy raising children and starting a business and couldn’t find time to do it. It was the last thing I needed to do on my long list of things.
Finally, I took the course online and texted my father a picture of the temporary license this morning.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad! I did it!
Let the boating begin…after many, many years!
Here’s to THE BEST DAD in the world. Thank you for all that you do for me every day. Raking leaves at the lake, moving beds, and being the man who has genuinely cared for my well-being every day of my life!
It doesn’t go unnoticed–and I am so grateful I got you.
I love you dad!
With love,
Kate
